Kentucky specific...
Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA)
- is a public corporation and governmental agency and
instrumentality of the Commonwealth established in 1966 to improve
students' access to higher education. To that end, KHEAA administers
several financial aid programs and disseminates information about
higher education opportunities. KHEAA has several publications
dealing with financial aid information, some examples are:
Adults Returning to School
- financial aid and educational opportunities in Kentucky; divided
into three parts(I) Making the Decision, (II) Paying for College,
and (III) Kentucky Colleges.
Affording Higher Education
- information about different sources of financial aid for Kentucky
students.
Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES)
Kentucky students who try to get the most from high school by
studying hard and making good grades can earn scholarships for
college or technical school.
The Student Loan People -
The Kentucky General Assembly created The Student Loan People in
1978 as an independent municipal corporation to make, finance,
service, and collect educational loans. Our mission is to promote
higher education opportunities by providing the lowest cost loan
programs and related services. The Student Loan People offer the
following educational loans to students and their parents: Federal
Stafford Loan (Subsidized) Federal Stafford Loan (Unsubsidized)
Federal Plus Loans.
