  • Search for books, DVDs, videos, and other items.
  • A results listing will appear for your search.
  • Click on the item that you are interested in.
  • To place that item on reserve, click the Place Hold Request button near the bottom of the page.
  • Enter your social security number (without hyphens) for your Patron/Alternate ID Number.
  • Enter the last 4 digits of your social security number for your PIN.
  • Click the Submit Request button.
  • The item will be placed on reserve for you.

To check the status of a reserve, you can go to My Sullivan Library Account, found on the online library catalog page. From your account page, you can also see the items checked out to your account. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the library at 456-6773.

Once the item is available to you, it will be held in reserve for a 7-day period. You must come to the library and pick up the item during this time.

How do I get a Library card?
Your Sullivan University ID card can be used as a library card. The ID card will enable you to check out materials. The borrower is responsible for materials checked out on his/her ID card. If you lose your ID/library card, please report it immediately to the library.

Tell me about the Library's circulation system
The library has installed a new automated circulation system which uses cutting-edge technology to allow students, staff, and faculty to check out and reserve library materials such as books and audiovisuals. The system links the barcodes on those materials with barcodes on the users' Sullivan College ID. A library card is needed to check out library materials.

How many items may be checked out at one time?
There is a checkout limit of ten items.

How long may Library materials be checked out?
Circulating library books, videos, and DVDs may be checked out for two weeks. Materials may be renewed unless they have already been reserved by another user.

Can periodicals be checked out?
No, periodicals can NOT be checked out. Photocopiers are available.

What is the "Librarian Is In" program?
This program provides students one-on-one assistance from a librarian. Librarians offer resources on a particular topic or show students how to work library sources better. Call the library for an appointment: (502) 456-6773.

Does the Library have photocopiers?
The library has 2 photocopiers. They accept dollar bills; copies are 5 cents each.

Tell me about the Library's catalog
All books, videos, and audiocassettes in the librarys collection are now available using an online web-based Public Access Catalog, called a webpac. The catalog is available on the librarys web pages at library.sullivan.edu. The catalog can be searched by author, title, subject, keyword, as well as by Boolean searching.

If I keep Items past their due date will I receive an overdue notice?
As a courtesy to its users, the library sends out overdue notices. Since users receive a date due slip at the time of check out of materials, users are responsible for returning materials on time. While the library does not charge overdue fines, materials should be returned on time so others may use them. If materials are needed longer, they can be renewed unless another user has reserved them.
