Library Services
The SCTD Library is located in the southeast wing of
the building and houses more than 2700 volumes of print material as
well as 70 current periodicals, a daily newspapers and a
collection of instructional videos which students may be permitted
to use with instructor's approval. Reference books consist of regulations
and standards pertinent to courses taught, art books, technical
dictionaries and vocational guides as well as general works.
Equipment in the library includes 18 personal computers (laptops
and desktops), photocopier, a scanner, and a color laser printer. All computers have Office XP and offer
access to the Internet. The library offers access to
over 14,000 electronic journals through a number of databases which
are available from the library computers or can be remotely accessed
from student's home. The library
does not keep a collection of current textbooks.
Loan PolicyNon-Reference books and past
issues of magazines may be checked out for a period of two weeks.
Videos and DVDs may be used by instructors in their classrooms for a
period of two weeks. Students who have their instructor's
permission, may check out a video or DVD they missed seeing in
class. The item must be returned to the library the next day. |
