Accessing databases from off campus- Staff
Status
Unlike access to databases on campus, using
databases off campus requires that you obtain a database-specific username
and password.
NOTE: If you
are taking an online class (a Sullivan University Global Online class),
the logon for the online class is DIFFERENT than the logon you use
for remote access to databases. The online class login uses a campus code.
Follow the directions below to access the databases.

| NOTE: We have had a
number of users reporting problems when using the America Online (AOL)
browser screen. If you are using AOL, you will need to switch your
browser screen to the Microsoft Internet Explorer (Microsoft IE)
browser. To go to Microsoft IE, minimize the AOL browser and look for
the icon to Microsoft IE on your desktop (it will be a big, blue E).
If not on your desktop, go to the START menu, then PROGRAMS to find.

Using databases from off
campus: From the Database menu option, select "Remote Access". A
password box will pop-up. Directions for entering
information in the password box are below. Once in the Remote Access
screen, follow the directions for accessing the desired database.

box: Depending on what browser you are using, or what operating
system is on your computer, you may get one of two pop-up boxes.
Type 1 - Username and Password
The first type will give you entry boxes
for just your username and password.

Type domain\username into
the User Name field (if you do not know what your domain is, see the
list below).

For Sullivan
Louisville, Ft. Knox and Lexington:
SUSCORP\yourusername

For Louisville Tech :
SUSCORP\yourusername

For Spencerian
Louisville and Lexington: SUSCORP\yourusername
If you do not type your domain and a "\" in front of your username,
the server doesn't know where to look for your account, so it will
not log you in.

Type your password into
the Password field
If you do not know what
your username and password are, you can contact the Sullivan University
IT Helpdesk (502-456-6504ext410, 1-800-844-1354ext410, or
helpdesk@sullivan.edu).
Type 2 - Username,
Password, & Domain
The next type will give you
entry boxes for your username, password, and domain.

Type your user name into
the User Name field

Type your password into
the Password field

Type your campus name into
the Domain field (if you do not know your domain, see list below).
