ABI/INFORM Research: This scholarly business periodicals database comprises nearly 1400 North American sources to provide information on advertising, economics, human resources, finance, marketing, computers and more. Fast access to information on over 60,000 companies. Now indexes The Wall Street Journal from 1984.

Business Source Premier:  An EBSCOhost? database indexing 3,650+ scholarly/peer-reviewed business journals back to 1922 and providing the corresponding full-text/full-image for articles on all business subjects  including management, finance and accountingAlso includes country economic reports as well as comprehensive  profiles for the 10,000 largest companies:  click the COMPANY PROFILE tab on the toolbar at the top of the page.  Updated daily.

Hoover?s Online delivers comprehensive company, industry, and market intelligence. Our database covers 12 million companies, with in-depth coverage of 40,000 of the world's top business enterprises.  The site is updated daily to provide the most current business information.

Morningstar: Library Edition comprises a premier financial database providing 1995- present access to 6,000+ stock and 13,000+ mutual fund reports,  plus analyst reports on 1,000 stocks and 2,000 mutual funds. A special feature is Morningstar's INVESTMENT CLASSROOM containing 150 different interactive financial courses. The exclusive stock and fund Morningstar Ratings are industry standards. Updated daily.

Newspaper Source: An EBSCOhost? database providing full-text articles from 23 national and international newspapers, television and radio news transcripts, and 200 regional U.S. newspapers.  Updated daily.

Louisville Free Public Library Databases:  users need a Louisville Free Public Library card to access these databases

  • Business and Company Resource Center:  A comprehensive database of company and industry information, and business journals and newspapers.

  • New York Times: Newspaper articles from New York Times, many include full text.

 

Periodical Search:

Use the periodical search function on the Catalog home page to find periodical titles indexed in our databases.  For example, if you have a citation to an article and want to see if it is available full-text in our databases, search for the journal title, and the system will lead you to the correct database.

Annual Reports Online: Provides information for accessing and understanding company proxies and annual reports from the Internet.

Country Commercial Guides: Maintained by the U.S. State Department and prepared by U.S. embassies, a user may select the fiscal year to review background of a country's commercial environment.

Courier Journal:  Louisville newspaper, coverage includes local businesses.  http://www.courier-journal.com

Doingbusiness: Established by the WorldBank, this site maintains a database for analysis of private sector development and investment, current laws and regulations in various countries, and exchanges of information with departments of the World Bank among others. Spanish/English language.

Forecastcenter.com: Outgrowth of a proprietary consulting firm, this site offers forecasts by broad subject area featuring government reports, published articles and consulting presentations.  Registration required but free.

Industry Research Desk: Compiled by a private organization, this award-winning site identifies and annotates 17+ steps in the industry research process with additional resources for patent research, product evaluations and industry portals.

 ClickZ Stats formerly Cyber Atlas:  ClickZ Stats provides a collection of online facts which have been gathered from secondary sources. Useful links include the "Stats Toolbox" which is an archive of statistical data and the "Glossary" which provides a directory of commonly used technical terms.

GVU's WWW User Surveys: This website provides results of surveys that have been periodically produced by the Georgia Tech's College of Computing. Survey results provide data, graphs, and charts and are arranged into detailed categories. http://www.gvu.gatech.edu/user_surveys/

U.S. Small Business Administration: Newly revised site includes SBA publications, FAQs, laws, regulations, reports, online workshops, statistics, shareware programs, start-up business loan information, financing and business expansion.

SPSS@13.0: A comprehensive data analysis system installed on a few computers in the lower level of the Sullivan University Library & Learning Resource Center.
