Use the periodical search function on the Catalog home page to find periodical titles indexed in our databases.  For example, if you have a citation to an article and want to see if it is available full-text in our databases, search for the journal title, and the system will lead you to the correct database.

American Academy of Pediatrics: This organization has a strong interest in child safety.  Check the Family Information section (http://www.aap.org/family/) for Safety and Injury Prevention Guidelines.

Children's Health, the Nation's Wealth: Assessing & Improving Child Health: A (2004) National Academics Press e-book that addresses work by the National Research Council & the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies which focused on the factors influencing children's health and recommendations for the future.

MEDLINEPlus: The Child Safety section of MEDLINEPlus provides links on child safety topics including kitchen safety, bike safety, etc.

Safe Kids: This advocacy group lobbies for effective safety laws to protect children.  Find information on current safety issues, and research laws in each state.

U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission: The CPSC has  jurisdiction over more than 15,000 kinds of consumer products used in and around the home, in sports, recreation and schools.  Find up to date information on product safety and recalls.
