LIBRARY NEWS Sullivan University Library Joins the National Network of Libraries of Medicine's (NN/LM) Docline The library's membership in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine's (NN/LM) DOCLINE went live on March 1st, 2008. This membership will greatly accelerate interlibrary loan for CoP faculty and students from the 3000+ NN/LM member medical libraries coast-to-coast. "Hail to the Chief: How America Chooses a President" A new exhibit at the Sullivan University Library looks at the campaigns, conventions, and other parts of the U.S. presidential election process. The national race heads into its most intense months as Election Day 2008 comes into view. This exhibit explains how the system works! Exhibit materials were collected by members of the Sullivan Student Paralegal Association. Stop by the library and have a look today. Looking for one-on-one help? Try the Tutoring Center! The Sullivan University Tutoring Center is located in Room 238. Tutors are available in accounting, computers, macroeconomics, microeconomics, financial management, English, NCHS/Hospitality, and many mathematics courses. See The Student Scene for more details. The tutoring center also provides tools for self-directed study, such as videos with mathematics help, books for individual study of the English language, library and FYE materials, and much more. Stop by the Tutoring Center for more information! Two New DVD Collections The library is acquiring two new DVD collections: Chef's Story and Modern Marvels. The DVDs from Chef's Story features interviews of notable chefs, among them Jose Andres, Lidia Bastianich, Rick Bayless, Daniel Boulud, Anthony Bourdain, Todd English, Bobby Flay, Jacques Pepin, Marcus Samuelsson, and Norman Van Aken. Modern Marvels features innovations of the modern world and how those products came into existence. The collection so far includes Antibiotics: the Wonder Drugs, Brewing, The Butcher, Canning, Corn, Harvesting, Ice, Prisons, Milk, and Tea. More will be arriving soon! Try the Library's New EBSCOHost Database! The library has purchased subscriptions to Hospitality & Tourism Complete, a more extensive version of Hospitality & Tourism Index, to provide even more resources to our NCHS students and faculty. New Wellness Center URL for students, faculty, and staff Students can now access the Wellness Center website with additional features via their student portal. Faculty and staff can access the Wellness Center website using the intranet by clicking on "Benefits," and choosing the Wellness Center option from the resulting menu.
